"A Punkin!"

We got lucky. We moved into a wonderful neighborhood. Already, three people have sent over baked goods welcoming us. Ethan has 5-6 friends his age in the cul-de-sac alone (23 kids get off at his bus stop) and they have a Mommy group for Mom with kids under 4 that meets every week. The best part is they are mostly little GIRLS - so Katie is in heaven.

Last week, we went to a local pumpkin patch. It was very well done. They started the kids off with a cookie and a lady dressed as a pumpkin told them stories about life on a farm. Then, they went through a "haunted hole" to a petting zoo. Katie wanted to take a picture of the turkey - and she got a nice shot. Then, they could explore the pumpkin exhibits outside and go into the field to get a pumpkin. It was some beautiful countryside and we had a great time picking out a pumpkin while getting to know our neighbors!

The first pumpkin she picked was quite "pokey"

But we finally found one she liked

What is the recipe for finding a neighborhood like that? Almost every time we have moved, we have struck out...hardly any kids. Where in B-town has those neighborhoods that aren't really far from the freeway and have nice normal people?
