Restaurant Coupons

Before Christmas, Restaurant.com had 80% all gift certificates. So, I purchased two $25 certificates for $2 each, one for a Mexican restaurant and one Italian. (They mark $25 down to $10 and then you get 80% off that.) Right now, they are having a 70% off sale, so you can purchase a $25 certificate for $3. Use the code SUPER when you checkout.

Now, the catch is that you have to spend $35 or more and they automatically add 18% tip to your check before discount. Unless you really choose cheap entrees and don't like to tip, I figure it's still $25 off and that's a good deal.

Spend $35 (Add $2.10 Tax) +(Add $6.30 tip)=
Total $43.40-Minus $25 certificate = $18.40

Of course, add the $2 or $3 you pay of the certificate, so it ends up being about 45% off. We don't go out a ton, but we're more likely to when it's $20 or $30 for dinner instead of $50 or $60.

Note: on the $10 certificates, you must order $20, on the $50, you must order $100, etc....

Yeah, this is why I make Sally calculate the tip when we go out to eat...
