Bowls

Last Thursday, we went to Greg's work for our annual bowl painting. The idea is that we paint bowls and then a local restaurant downtown sells them with soup for $10 with all the proceeds benefiting the hungry. It's a good cause and a lot of fun. Last year we weren't around to buy the bowls, but this year we got them. Thanks to Elizabeth and Jackie for setting it up! (And thanks to Greg who dug out our old camera and took pictures because I forgot the nice one at home, so sorry if the quality is a little less than usual.)

Katie was being a bear (can you tell she had been crying?), until I realized that she wanted to paint. She was so deliberate with her strokes and knew just what to do. It was kinda freaky because it's not like she's ever seen painting before and she took right to it. Kids are awesome that way!

Ethan painted two bowls. Here is the first finished product!

What a fun thing for work to do.

Sommer loves to paint too but she ends up eating the brushes.

Did she pick the colors pink and purple too or was that mommy? It might be hard to decide which school she will go to at 5 when she's this talented in the arts now.
